Sagem my850v

Despite being a major player in the UK prepay market, many of you might not be aware that French manufacturer Sagem has also dabbled in the contract arena. Well, once to be exact, with the myx6-2 on Orange back in 2005. Now it’s having its second stab at this monthly gig with the stylish 3G my850v Crystal clamshell, this time exclusively on Vodafone.

The my850v is undoubtedly Sagem’s more desirable handset since the myX-8 (a fantastic handset so shamefully ignored by the UK operators) and it’s a sleek clam that flaunts a smoky mirrored façade, slightly reminiscent of the Sony Ericsson Z610i. Unfortunately this means the front exterior is open to attack from the dreaded finger print smears but its sultry dark navy veneer manages to conceal the worst offenders. This reflective minimalist frontage is disturbed by a small monochrome LCD, touch-sensitive music controls and a faint Vodafone logo.
