Majority favors cell phone ban for drivers

A majority (60%) would favor a ban on cell phone use while driving, according to a News-7 poll conducted Monday by SurveyUSA. The pollsters surveyed 500 adults. Most people (84%) say they favor Virginia's new law banning cell phone use by drivers younger than 18. Support for restrictions on cell phone use was slightly higher among older respondents. Those in the 18-49 age groups were evenly divided on the issue of a general ban on cell phone use while driving
