$650.00 dollars in text messages alone

Attention all you parents. Has your child overused and abused your family cell phone plan? 6500 text messages in one month. At .10 cents a message that's $650.00 dollars in text messages alone. That's what many parents are experiencing who aren't getting the right plan when they add their child to their cell phone plan. Many people who sign up for second lines for a their child don't ask all the right questions, like. Do I get charged for sending and receiving text message? Do I have unlimited text messages? or How much does a text message cost?

Asking these simple questions can possibly save you hundreds of dollars in unnecessary charges. First of all, the six major cell phone carriers Alltel AT&T, Sprint, Nextel T-mobile and verizon all offer an unlimited monthly text message fee. You can add the fee to your existing service. The charge runs anywhere from $10.00 a month to $20.00 a month depending on carrier. There are also limited text message fees that can be added, but then if they go over the allotted amount of minutes, a per text fee applies and if your not paying attention, can add up quickly.
